Chickadee Kids Company is Burlington’s toy store for the early years. At Chickadee, we believe toys are not just for meaningless fun, but are tools that are vital to children's development. We know children learn through play and we strive to provide the right tools to support their learning, growth and development. 

We focus on quality toys and books that support children’s learning and development and help them learn about and interact with the world around them; open-ended toys and toys that are not only fun but are beneficial to children's cognitive, behavioural and social development. We stock toys that are powered by imagination, not batteries. Many of the toys we carry in our store are Montessori or Waldorf-inspired.

All of the toys and books that line our shelves are handpicked by us – real parents! We only stock products that we truly believe are a great choice for your family. We want parents to feel confident that the products they are choosing for their children are beneficial and of good quality. As parents, we look to what we use and love. Ask us anything about our products; chances are we’re using them with our own young family!

We aren't just a regular toy store. We want you to consider us as your resource for play. Play Based Learning

We are strong believers that play creates opportunities for learning and we stock toys and activities that help support children’s growth and development. Play creates opportunities for children to practice many developmental skills including problem solving, self-regulation, creativity, critical thinking, and communication. We have done the research and selected top quality products from some of the best brands on the market including Hape Toys, Fat Brain Toys, Janod, Schleich, Barefoot Books, Folkmanis, Peaceable Kingdom, Connetix and many, many more!

I opened Chickadee Kids Company as a mom of two young children. Our staff members are also parents! Our children are our best toy testers and we frequently share their favourites on our Instagram (@chickadeekidscompany). We are proud members of the Burlington, Ontario community and we love to carry locally made products. We stock many Canadian owned brands including Dough Parlour, Loot Toy Company and Malarkey Kids.
